EECP®
EECP®
EECP® is a non-surgical outpatient therapy for patients suffering with angina pectoris and congestive heart failure. The therapy employs a three-cuff compression configuration and a sophisticated, computerized control which is synchronized to the individual patient’s cardiac cycle. The cuffs inflate with air to create external pressure when the heart is resting and deflate just before the heart beats. The system’s action, which pulses counter to the heart’s beating, increases blood flow to the heart muscle, decreases the heart’s workload, and creates a greater oxygen supply for the heart muscle while lowering the heart’s need for oxygen.

This enhance system has been shown to provide sustained relief of angina, and improvement in myocardial perfusion documented by nuclear imaging. EECP® treatment is generally administered for one hour per day, five days per week, for seven weeks, for a total of 35 hours.

This therapy has allowed many patients to return to and maintain a more independently mobile and active lifestyle. The benefits have shown to persist for years.
